Retaining the look of a grassed area, Tuff Turf has the load-bearing strength of concrete. It is quick and simple to install and provides a surprisingly cost-effective solution for grassed areas where vehicle parking and access are required.

Approximately 79% of the block area is available for grass and approximately 85% of the block is available for distribution of the load to the underlying area.

 
Tuff Turf should be laid by placing closely together directly onto a 20mm blinding layer of sharp sand over a compact sub-base (minimum 150mm) of quarry waste or similar approved unwashed material of 75mm down size. When in position the blocks should be tamped down to ensure total contact between units and sand, thus reducing the risk of differential settlement.

Clean good quality soil / peat mixture should be levelled below the top surface of the block, sow with grass seed shortly after and cover with a thin layer of fine soil, which should be levelled with a hard broom to just below the top surface.
